NBA Street Review
A great addition to the basketball genre and a enjoyable game.

It was about six o' clock when I popped in my newly bought game. As it began to load I gazed upon the cover, repeating, "NBA Street is mine, AWESOME!" I am a really big fan of basket ball games and when I heard NBA Street was Cube bound I wet myself in delight. After the short load time some Hip-Hop rap rang through my ears and a saw a record spin and very well detailed players broke out there game on the court. I couldn't wait any longer and pressed the "A" button to get on with the game as I usually do when I buy a new game to add to my collection. Another load came about but still not very long.

Then I was finally at the main menu screen, ready to play some hoops and get my game goin' on. I first went into the "Street School" mode, which is pretty much a training lesson. While playing this mode Joe "The Show" teaches you the basics of the game like how to shoot, dunk, pass, etc. I then went to check out the create a player feature. At first there isn't a whole lot you can do to create your own Street player but that's the thing they was going for. Instead you have to "earn" different looks, shoes, outfits, etc. I really like this because if you really want to diversify your player you got to play to get him/her that way. After I created my six foot 250 pound guy I than took it to the courts in "City Circuit" .Here is where you pick your team and play throughout a season type mode where after you beat so many teams you then face against a "boss" player and his team.

After you have beaten the boss team you are then allowed to add the boss to your roster, which is cool if you want to make your team really strong. There is a wide array of different moves, tricks, and dunk but there is so many to make your head spin. Which is good in a way in that it keeps it simple and still fun so you can pick up and play quit easily.

Graphics wise it is superb with great lighting effects especially in
the more dark courts that are lit up by streetlights. The character models are well defined and all of this runs at a smooth 60 fps with not a hiccup in sight.

Sound is decent also with a good rap always on to keep up the pace and the great sound of a swish that brings back the memories of playing around the world with friends. All in all this is a great game to buy and defiantly worth your time and money, especially if you got some friends around to play it with. If you liked Madden and Courtside, you will LOVE this. Check it out as soon as you can. Its on shelves everywhere so don't miss it!
