The red pill? Or maybe the blue?

What non-gay guy on this earth would pass up the chance to see some more Jada Pinkett-Smith? Me not being too much of a Matrix fan. I picked up Enter The Matrix just to see hottie Niobe since I was disssapointed in the small role she had in the Matrix Reloaded. I was really expecting another low quality movie gimmick game. And boy was I wrong. Staring Jada Pinkett-Smith as Niobe & Anthony Wong as Ghost written and directed by Andy & Larry Wachowski. Enter The Matrix sets a new standard for movie based videogames. And I can tell you one thing its better than the movie!
There is no doubt ETM is an action packed game. With lots of hand to hand combat, loads of gunplay, and driving mixed in for good measure. There’s also 2 flight stages when you shoot or pilot the Logo’s (Niobe’s ship). But they are the dirty little secret of this game. Because they really suck. I hate them and won’t be mentioning them anymore. The combat system is very nicely crafted by the skilled hands of almost unknown developer Shiny. Though the standard punch, kick, block/counter and throw are there, Shiny has taken the incredible to watch slow-mo of the Matrix and put it in the game to make it even more interesting. This is the slow motion camera work used in the Matrix films to show how a character can manipulate the Matrix to achieve extraordinary feats. Since the First movie videogames & other movies alike has copied the trend. Even Nintendo’s own Zelda: The Wind Waker sampled the style. So when The Matrix finally gets its game is it still fun? Damn skippy it! is. Not only is it fun but its better executed than past video games. Now, by hitting the Focus button, you can run up on a wall, flip over, come down on a guy, turn around and lay the smack down on the opponent next to him. And let's say you have your gun out, you can run up on that wall, flip over, and fire in mid air, pounding your enemies with a relentless wave of bullets. And since the game's auto-target system was made with the utmost care, diving into the air and firing onto a crowd of Cops never becomes a hassle.
During you quest through the game. Your health and focus will replenish itself, even though there are instant 100% health packs hidden around the game. As the health and Focus meters fill up they get slower and slower nearing 100%. A good playing tip is to find an area where you can sit unmolested to replenish. Niobe & Ghost has the ability to shimmy along narrow ledges, and to move hand over hand on pipes as well as wrap your legs around them and use it as a perch to fire guns from a unique perspective. The developers were very complete in the other abilities of the characters. They can look around corners, lean up against the wall for movie style ambience during game play as well as duck down behind boxes and tables to shield you from gun fire.
